Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Govex pricing, setup, and security.
Every plan includes a full-featured 14-day trial with no credit card required. You get unlimited devices during the trial so you can connect your tenants, explore the dashboard, and evaluate the product with real data before committing. If you decide not to continue, your account simply deactivates after the trial period.
The Professional plan includes 100 managed devices in the $49/month base price. If you have more than 100 devices across all your connected tenants, each additional device is billed at $0.30/month. Your device count is reported automatically after each sync, and Stripe calculates the overage on your monthly invoice. For example, 250 devices would cost $49 + (150 x $0.30) = $94/month.
Connecting a tenant takes about two minutes. Enter a name for the tenant, click Connect with Microsoft, and an administrator from the target tenant approves the read-only permissions. The tenant begins syncing immediately. You can connect additional tenants at any time from Settings.
All data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with AES-256 encryption. We use read-only Microsoft Graph API permissions and never store user passwords or credentials. Our infrastructure runs in isolated environments with role-based access controls, and we perform regular security audits. Tenant data is logically separated so no customer can access another customer's information.
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. When you upgrade, the new features are available immediately and you are billed a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle. When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period.
Govex requires read-only application permissions including DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All for device and compliance data, DeviceManagementConfiguration.Read.All for configuration policies, User.Read.All for user directory information, and WindowsUpdates.Read.All for update compliance reporting. These permissions are automatically requested through the consent flow when an administrator connects a tenant. We never request write permissions to your environment.
All plans include email support with responses within one business day. Professional plan customers receive priority email support with 4-hour response times during business hours. Enterprise customers get a dedicated account manager, phone support, and a guaranteed response SLA. We also maintain a knowledge base with setup guides, troubleshooting articles, and API documentation.
Govex integrates with Dell, Lenovo, and HP warranty APIs to automatically look up warranty status for your managed devices using their serial numbers. The dashboard shows whether each device warranty is active, expiring soon (within 90 days), or expired. This helps you plan hardware refreshes and avoid support gaps. Warranty data refreshes automatically during each sync cycle, or you can trigger a manual refresh from the dashboard.
The report builder on the Professional plan lets you create custom reports by selecting entity types (devices, users, compliance statuses, etc.), choosing which columns to include, and adding filters to narrow the data. You can preview matching records before exporting. Reports can be exported as CSV or Excel files on demand, or scheduled for automatic email delivery on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Govex also includes pre-built report templates organized by category for common reporting needs.
Govex supports three notification channels for alert delivery. Email notifications send HTML-formatted alerts to a list of recipients via SMTP. Microsoft Teams notifications post to a Teams channel via an incoming webhook URL. Webhook notifications send a JSON payload to any HTTP endpoint, which is useful for integrating with ticketing systems, Slack, or custom automation. You can configure and test channels from the Notification Channels page in Settings.
