Multi-Tenant Intune Management: A Guide for MSPs
Managed service providers face a unique challenge when it comes to Intune administration. Each client has their own Azure AD tenant, their own set of compliance policies, and their own device fleet. Switching between tenants in the Intune admin center is tedious, and building reports that span multiple clients requires significant manual effort. Govex was designed with MSPs in mind, providing a true multi-tenant experience that lets you manage all of your clients from a single interface.
Adding a new tenant to Govex takes just a few minutes. Click Add Tenant, enter a friendly name for the client, and then click Connect with Microsoft. The client's tenant administrator is redirected to Microsoft's consent screen where they approve the required Graph API permissions. Once consent is granted, Govex automatically establishes the connection and begins syncing device data, compliance policies, user directories, and update status for that tenant alongside all of your other clients. There is no need to manually create App Registrations or manage client secrets. The dashboard lets you switch between tenants instantly or view aggregate statistics across your entire managed portfolio.
The real value for MSPs comes from the reporting capabilities. Instead of logging into each client's Intune portal to compile a monthly status report, you can generate compliance summaries, device inventories, and update reports across any combination of tenants. This not only saves time but also ensures consistency in the data you present to clients. You can identify which tenants have the lowest compliance rates and prioritize your remediation efforts accordingly.
Security and data isolation are handled carefully. Each tenant's data is stored separately in the database, and access controls ensure that client data is never mixed or exposed inappropriately. The multi-tenant architecture was built on the same Graph API permission model that Microsoft uses, so you maintain the same security boundaries that exist in Azure AD while gaining the operational efficiency of a unified management platform.
